September car sales up 80pct
Auto shares gained after the Guangzhou Daily reported the national passenger car sales increased almost 80 percent last month from a year earlier. Mailand-listed auto shares advanced 1.75 percent on average.
SAIC Motor Corp.(SH:600104), China's largest carmaker, gained 1.03 percent. The company's sales in September rose 90.7 percent from a year earlier, the China Securities Journal reported today.
Weichai Heavy Machinery Co.(SZ:000880) surged to the 10 percent trading cap after saying third-quarter profit likely more than tripled.
Zhengzhou Yutong Bus Co. (SH:600066) advanced 5.33 percent after saying that both production and sales in September almost matched that of last year.
Anhui Xingma Automobile Co.(SH:600375) climbed 1.13 percent. The company said today that profit for the first three quarters may increase 50 percent year-on-year.
Tianjin Faw Xiali Automobile Co. (SZ:000927) advanced 1.21 percent. September sales rose 23.8 percent year on year, the company said today.
