Nidec Corporation adds third factory and laboratory in Dalian City, China
Nidec Corporation (NYSE:NJ), the Japan headquartered manufacturer of small-to-mid-size motors, fan motors, and pivot assemblies, is to expand its presence in China through the construction of a third manufacturing and research and development facility in Dalian City, China.
Nidec already operates two facilities in the Dalian Economic
& Technical Development Zone that develop small precision motors.
The third facility, which is expected to require a capital outlay of
US$50 million, will focus on manufacturing automotive motors.
“Working in tandem, the new manufacturing and R&D facilities
assume an essential role in driving the commercialization of the
Company's industry-leading electric motor technology and accommodating
the rapidly growing demand in a broad spectrum of the Asian market,”
Nidec stated this morning.
The 40,000 square meter facility will is expected to employ
around 5,300 individuals and is expected to start operations in January
2011.
