Apple's iPad 2 launches in the US tomorrow
California-based tech giant Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) said Thursday that its highly anticipated iPad 2 will launch tomorrow in the company's US stores at 5pm PT.
The new device, which features an entirely new design that is 33% thinner and up to 15% lighter than the original, will be available online at the Apple Store beginning at 1am PT. The company said that every customer who buys an iPad 2 at a retail store tomorrow will also be offered free personal setup service.
The next generation tablet computer will also feature Apple's new dual-core A5 processing system, and will include two cameras, a front-facing and rear-facing camera. iPad 2 will still deliver up to 10 hours of battery life, the company said, and will be available in black or white for prices ranging from US$499 to US$699 with Wi-Fi.
iPad 2 will also be available at US stores AT&T, Best Buy, Target, Verizon Wireless, Walmart and select authorized Apple resellers.
The device will launch in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the UK and a host of other countries on March 25th.
