Pinetree Capital boosts stake in Southern Silver Exploration
Pinetree Capital (TSE:PNP) announced Friday that it has, through a series of transactions, increased its stake in Southern Silver Exploration Corp (CVE:SSV), for a total holding of just over 13%.
The small-cap resource investor acquired 250,000 common shares, representing approximately 0.2% of Southern Silver, as of March 9, 2011.
As a result, Pinetree and its "joint actors" collectively hold 13.9 million common shares, assuming convertible securities are exercised, representing a 13.3% stake in Southern Silver on a partially diluted basis.
Pinetree's investments are primarily in the resources sector of precious metals, uranium and coal, base metals, oil and gas, and potash, lithium and rare earths.
Southern Silver has precious and base metal properties in Mexico, New Mexico and Arizona.
