China Botanic to expand product range with new regulatory drug manufacturing approval
Botanical product manufacturer China Botanic Pharmaceutical (AMEX:CBP) has received regulatory approval to produce water-based mixtures, the company said Tuesday.
The China-based company, from its three production facilities, makes botanical anti-depression and nerve-regulation products as well as botanical antibiotics, traditional Chinese medicines and other bio pharmaceutical products.
The Heilongjiang State Food and Drug Administration recently issued a new drug manufacturing certificate to permit the production of water-based mixtures, which are compound liquids that use water as solvent, and contain one or more components extracted from Chinese herbal medicine.
Under the terms of the company's original manufacturing certificate, it was authorized to solely make granules, soft capsules, tablets, oral liquids, syrups, and hard capsules.
"Obtaining this approval indicates that we have obtained the highest caliber of production control. This certificate will allow us to extend our scope of production, and broaden our range of all-natural treatments," said chairman and CEO Shaoming Li.
