Score Media swings to second quarter profit

Score Media (TSE:SCR) reversed its year-ago second quarter loss on Thursday, as the sports entertainment provider's revenue rose 11%, helped by growth from its digital assets.
"Our results from this past quarter demonstrated continued growth across the company," said chairman and CEO John Levy.
"Our fan base increased and our team is working hard behind the scenes preparing for some exciting new launches across all of our platforms in the coming months."
For the three months ending February 28, the Canadian company reported net income of $0.2 million, compared to a net loss of $0.2 million a year earlier.
Revenue rose by 11% to $11.1 million. Traffic to the company's website, theScore.com, grew 124% since January 2010, to 1.4 million monthly unique visitors.
In addition, Score's apps, ScoreMobile, ScoreMobile FC and theScore iPad Edition, had 2.4 million unique visitors in January 2011 - the best month to date. According to the company, ScoreMobile is the number one sports app in BlackBerry App World and Windows Marketplace.
Score Media's primary asset, theScore Television Network, is a Canadian specialty television service providing sports news, information, highlights and live event programming in more than 6.8 million homes across the country.
