DDD Group shares climb on new licence agreement
DDD Group (LON:DDD) saw its shares climb more than ten percent this morning after news that it had signed a five-year PC game and photo software licence deal.
The company said it was its largest commercial software agreement to date.
The agreement is with a leading PC maker to bundle the firm's TriDef 3D PC software products with the PC maker's new line of 3D PC products, said DDD.
DDD's software is available in 37 languages and allows more than 500 of the latest PC games to be played in stereoscopic 3D 'off the shelf', even though the game has not been specifically developed for 3D.
Shipments are expected to begin next month.
The estimated volume of around 1 million licenses over the next 12 months is expected to generate revenues in excess of $1 million.
Chief executive of DDD Chris Yewdall said: "Our TriDef 3D software is fast becoming an industry standard within the emerging 3D PC market and this license represents our largest commercial software agreement to date."
As at 9.55am, the company's shares were 10.58 percent up, or 2.75 pence, trading at 28.75 pence.
