International Coal new non-executive chairman steps up to the plate
International Coal (ASX: ICX) non-executive chairman Rick Anthon has tendered his resignation as non-executive chairman of the company, due to other commitments.
Anthon was a founding director of International Coal, seeing the company through its highly successful IPO and subsequent growth.
International Coal listed on the ASX in July 2011, following an oversubscribed $9 million IPO.
Since then, the company has proved to be a star performer on the ASX, closing at $0.40 today, double its $0.20 listing price - an impressive achievement in five months.
The role of non-executive chairman will now be filled by International Coal director John Lester, who has extensive experience in mining and corporate finance.
International Coal has also advised that founding chief financial officer David Round has been been appointed a non-executive director.
An experienced CFO, Round has acted as company secretary and corporate advisor to a number of listed companies in Australia, and was a founding director of Waratah Gold (now Waratah Resources).
At the end of the September quarter, International Coal had cash of $6.99 million to its name.
