Slam drills 10.11% zinc over 4.1 metres at Nepisiguit in New Brunswick
Slam Exploration (CVE:SXL) said Thursday it intersected 10.11 percent zinc over 4.1 metres at its wholly owned Nepisiguit project located in New Brunswick.
Starting at a depth of 614.9 metres, hole NP11-39 was drilled on the A-Zone and intersected 4.1 metres grading 0.3 percent copper, 10.11 percent zinc, 1.24 percent lead, and 33.0 grams per tonne (g/t) silver, within a wider interval of 0.24 percent copper, 5.03 percent zinc, 0.95 percent lead, and 34.0 g/t silver over 11.2 metres.
Slam said the A-Zone remains open at depth below NP11-39.
Other significant results included hole NP11-25, which hit 5.57 metres at 1.03 percent copper, 3.31 percent zinc, 0.83 percent lead, and 57.0 g/t silver; hole NP11-34, which intersected 0.63 percent copper, 4.87 percent zinc, 0.55 percent lead, and 37.0 g/t silver over 3.05 metres; and hole NP11-35, which returned 0.58 metres at 0.745 percent copper, 6.53 percent zinc, 4.92 percent lead, and 137.0 g/t silver.
In addition, over 21.4 metres, hole NP11-30 intersected 0.18 percent copper, 1.74 percent zinc, 0.24 percent lead, and 12.0 g/t silver, including 1.95 metres at 0.16 percent copper, 7.91 percent zinc, 1.29 percent lead, and 27.0 g/t silver.
Assays for another 45 holes on the A-Zone, as well as the B-Zone and C-Zone are pending.
The Nepisiguit project comprises 78 claims covering 1,770 hectares, including a 6,500 metre-long strike length.
Previous work on the property included a series of shallow holes that defined three zones - the A-Zone, B-Zone, and C-Zone - which pre-date NI 43-101 standards.
Slam's current drill program is being funded in part by a $500,000 grant from the New Brunswick Junior Mining Assistance Program.
