Avia Health Informatics wins 2 contracts for Odyssey software products
Healthcare support software specialist Avia Health Informatics (LON:AVIA) has announced two contract wins for its Odyssey FaceToFace and Odyssey Reception products.
Avia subsidiary Plain Healthcare Ltd signed a new contract with Greenbrook Healthcare to support its Urgent Care Centre that is co-located with Northwick Park Hospital A&E department. The centre will be open 24/7 and will treat a range of minor illnesses and minor injuries that require urgent and immediate attention.
The other contract was signed with Hounslow CCG, whose Urgent Care Centre is being built at West Middlesex University Hospital.
Patients attending the centres will be initially prioritised by a receptionist using Odyssey Reception software, and then passed to a nurse using Odyssey FaceToFace decision support to complete the clinical assessment and treatment.
Financial details were not disclosed.
Odyssey FaceToFace is a comprehensive clinical decision support system for face-to-face consultation in emergency or primary care settings.
Odyssey FaceToFace offers varying levels of support covering the full range of acute presentations, and includes sophisticated guidance for history taking, examination, diagnosis and treatment.
The group told investors yesterday that it was no longer up for sale. It confirmed that it had concluded a strategic review of its business and said it was not in talks with any party regarding a potential sale of the company.
Avia confirmed that instead of selling the company it plans to raise at least £500,000 to support the development of the business.
Last month Avia announced that it needed to raise a much smaller sum of money rather than the £1.5 million it previously forecast. It also published restated accounts for the year to March, showing revenues of £2.1 million and an operating loss of £540,000.
The shares resumed trading following the announcements last month.
At that time it said that it wanted to raise the money for new product development with a portion to be used as a working capital buffer in the event trading turned down again.
Avia added that it did not need new funds "for the sole purpose of securing the business" after recent cost-cutting and sales deals.
