QFIIs
Foreigners are currently not allowed to buy or sell A-shares on the Shanghai or Shenzhen stock exchange. However a small number of Qualified Foreign Investment Institutions (QFIIs) are given a quota with which they can invest in A-shares. These funds provide a way for foreign investors to buy into Chinese domestic markets.
