China-Biotics applies for four patents on probiotic formulations
China-Biotics has submitted applications for four patents to the State Intellectual Property Office of the People's Republic of China for probiotics-based products , including: a protein powder formulation; home yogurt fermentation, a retail powder that enables customers to make yogurt at home; a yogurt powder; and a health-enhancing yogurt.
Currently, the Intellectual Property Office is conducting an official review of these applications. It takes about two years to obtain patent certificates under normal circumstances.
The Company also announced that Mr. Zhenjia Bian and Mr. Chengdong Yi, senior officials from the State Food and Drug Administration, visited the Company recently. The visit coincided with China's new umbrella food safety law, which sets more stringent standards for food production throughout China.
The officials praised the Company's significant achievements in probiotics applications during the past decade and encouraged management to continue its business expansion efforts.
