LDK Solar completes first production run at 15,000 tonne polysilicon plant

LDK Solar Co Ltd (NYSE: LDK) announced the successful completion of the first production run of its ramped-up polysilicon production plant at Xinyu City in Jiangxi Province.

The plant's new capacity is 15,000 MT a year of which the first 5,000 MT production train has now been successfully completed.

LDK manufactures multi-crystalline solar wafers, the primary component used to produce solar energy cells. LDK Solar sells multicrystalline wafers globally to manufacturers of photovoltaic products, including solar cells and solar modules.
