Jinshan Gold Mines achieves record production in August
Chinese base gold producer Jinshan Gold Mines Inc (TSX:JIN) today announced an operational update in reference to their CSH Gold Mine located in Inner-Mongolia, China. The update reports a new facility record for the month of August, in which Jinshan poured 8,525 ounces of Gold.
Operations at the Mongolian Mine have been making progressive improvements, with current production approaching initial design expectations, of 9,000 oz per month. Jinshan attribute the incremental production gains to an improving control over the initial ore mining, which has caused improvements to the grades and sizes of the ore placed on the leach pad. Subsequently Jinshan have been able to increase efficiency, leaching a greater area and an increased solution pumping capacity.
A total of approximately 43,200 ounces of gold were produced in the first eight months of 2009, compared to approximately 35,500 ounces for the same period in 2008.
Additionally the operational update announced the successful installation and testing of new on site crushing facilities at the CSH Mine. Jinshan expects the crushing plant throughput to reach design capacity of 30,000 tonnes per day early in the fourth quarter.
At peak performance the new facility will provide a six fold increase in daily crushing volumes from current levels, at present approximately 5,000 tonnes of ore per day is being crushed. Jinshan expects the new facility to provide significant increases to the mines output.
