Sohu.com full year revenues hit US$515 million
Online media, communications, search and gaming group, Sohu.com Inc (NASDAQ: SOHU) reported a 20% increase in year-over-year (YoY) revenues to US$515.2
million and a doubling in its cash balance to US$563.8 million.
The
company was reporting both fourth quarter and full year revenues for
the 3 and 12 month period ending 31 December 2009. The results were in
line with guidance, but nonetheless underlined the continued strong
growth profile of online businesses operating in China.
Total
revenues for Q4 rose 12% to US$135.8 million, helping to lift full year
revenues by 20% to US$515.2 million. Sohu.com reported record full
year revenues in every business segment; brand advertising rose 5% to
US$177.1 million, online game revenues jumped 33% to US$267.6 million
and wireless revenues climbed 29% to US$60.8 million. Full year GAAP
net income rose 11% to US$176.4 million, while total gross margins
increased by 1% to 76%.

the accomplishments of an exceptional year which saw us deliver record
results along with an enormously successful listing of our MMORPG
subsidiary Changyou. Effective business strategies and high-quality

While our three healthy and growing existing games continue to deliver
solid revenues, our highly anticipated and diverse 2010 pipeline of
five games will bring us increasing momentum in the coming quarters.
Our second in-house developed game Duke of Mount Deer, one of the most
anticipated online games in China, is progressing smoothly."
For the first quarter of 2010 Sohu.com is estimating total revenues of US$123-128 million.
