Shenzhen Energy to create new wind power company
Shenzhen Energy (SZ:000027) subsidiary North Energy plans to establish the new Tongliao Wind Power Company in Inner Mongolia, with registered assets of RMB630m. The new company is expected to invest RMB3.1bn to establish a 300MW wind farm.
The Shenzhen-listed company reported on March 2 that its recorded net profit for 2008 was RMB910m, down 43.06 percent year on year.
Shenzhen Energy also plans to spend a total of RMB5.61bn building power plants in Shenzhen in Guangdong Province, Wuhan in Hubei Province, and its venture in Tongliao. The other planned ventures are waste-to-energy plants.
A waste-to-energy power station will be constructed in Baoan District, Shenzhen, for an investment of RMB1.368bn, which will consume 3,000 tonnes of refuse daily. In Shenzhen's Longgang District, a power station with an estimated capacity of 4m KW is planned.
A third new power station in Shenzhen, with an investment of RMB380m, will be located in the city's Nanshan District and is to have a waste disposal capacity of 800 tonnes per day.
In Wuhan City, a subsidiary of Shenzhen Energy plans to invest RMB394m to build a waste-to-energy power station with a predicted daily waste disposal capacity of 1,000 tonnes.
