Minco Gold reports 65 pct rise in indicated gold resource at Changkeng project, China
Minco Gold Corp said an updated NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate for the Changkeng project in China’s Guangdong province puts the indicated gold resource at 4 million tonnes at 4.89 grams per ton of gold for a total of 623,100 ounces, a 65 percent increase in gold ounces for this resource category.
The estimate also contains inferred resources of 4 million tons at 3.01 g/t Au for a total of 386,800 oz.
Minco Gold controls 51 percent of the Changkeng project which has 2 distinct and separate mineralized zones, a gold dominant zone and a silver dominant zone. Minco Gold assigned its 51 percent ownership in silver resources to Minco Silver Corp.
The deposit contains indicated resources of 5.6 million tons at 170 g/t silver for a total of 30,708,000 oz and inferred resources of 1.1 million tons at 220 g/t Ag for a total of 7,517,000 oz. This represents a 70 percent increase in silver ounces for the indicated resource category.
The increases are due to the recent drilling which upgraded inferred resources and outlined new resources.
